Supported Businesses
Welcome Beta Testers! Thanks for your help.
I just wanted to acknowledge you guys and let you know what a great job you are doing in helping us work out the minor bugs in the beta version of MLM Local.
Most of what has been reported are minor issues that should be simple to resolve.
One thing I wanted to mention is that if you have forcibly entered a company (business) name that is not alread on the MLM Local list of supported businesses, then your company link in the tag cloud will not by clickable, thus reducing your changes of getting noticed by prospects.
Somehow we forgot to prevent signup/update without having selected a supported company.
We will be deleting out the company field for those of you who have somehow slipped by and entered something that is not in the supported company list.
Please login again and choose from one of the supported companies or go to http://www.mlmlocal.com/support and request that your company be added, by including the full company name, and a URL we can look at to ensure that your company qualifies.
We currently are NOT supporting gifting programs, paid-to-surfs, investment programs such as HYIPs, etc. - even if they have a multi-tiered referral program.
At some point in the future we may release a site that better supports those types of programs, but MLM Local is strictly for network marketing companies where you are paid on the sale of products that you and your organization move.
You are, however, welcome to link to your personal blog or website by entering its URL in the “website” field that is in your profile.
One more quick note:
If you are not using Twitter, Facebook, or any other social network that is supported by MLM Local, be sure to login and edit your profile to “hide” those fields in your listing.
If you are using a specific network, make sure to enter your ID or URL for the site into your profile and choose to “show” that field in your listing. That is what enables us to link the icons that appear on the bubble that pops up when a visitor clicks your pin on the map.
So the general best practice is… either HIDE the programs you don’t use (or you don’t want to show), and make sure your ID or URL is entered for the ones you do, then choose to “SHOW”.
Then once you have things the way you want them, find your own map pin on the map and click on it to make sure your icons on linking to your profiles properly. You don’t want to miss out on any new contacts!
You can also choose to hide/show any personal information, such as your phone number or email address. You have full control over what information you want visitors to see and how they can contact you.
At a very minimum, make sure you have given visitors a way to contact you, and have included a link to your website!
Thanks again for all your help.

Can I use this program ?
Hi Guys,
How long does it take to get a new company approved?
I submitted a support ticket for this company and was just curious.
Thanks.
MLMLocal looks like it will be a great tool to use!
